Merry Christmas!

And a happy New year! I hope it was everything you wanted it to be! We now find ourselves half way through January already…

I know it has been a hard couple of years, I went into it with low expectations, but we were lucky enough to be able to spend it with most of our family.

Every year I try and make as many gifts as possible. This year was no exception.

This is what I made to gift…

For my son, I reupholstered a little chair. I’ve been working on it a long time, and finally finished it just in time for Christmas! The orange fabric is from men’s ties, whilst the other grey hexagons come from a range of places such as skirts, remnants, even a jacket. I will write a more in depth post about this project in coming weeks.

For my nephews (arrival still pending, we’re super excited), some little wayfarer booties. The outer fabric for these also came from men’s ties! They are lined with a soft and cozy cotton flannel. these are another Twig&Tale pattern, find it here.

For all the grandparents I used some of BB’s artwork to make journals. Each signature has a piece of artwork, and then blank pages in the middle. The covers are book board covered in fabric he also painted, I used modge podge to seal them. Finally, I copic stitched it all together. Guy sourced some handmade pens from a talent woodworker to complete the set. This was truly a gift we worked on as a family! I will be writing a more in-depth post about these soon too.

For one of my brother-in-laws I made some new shopping bags! My pattern can be found here. Apparently I didn’t take any photos of them, but you can find my pattern here.

BB made wooden ornaments for his childcare educators. I had initially thought we would just paint them, but when he found the jar of gems, I thought they would be a nice edition! I made little tags with a photo of him painting them and wrote a message to his educators.

This is what others made me for gifts…

My husband spent two days before Christmas whilst i was at work sneakily making this beautiful wooden box. He used reclaimed wood. I am blown away at how amazing it is.

And that’s a wrap!

Another Christmas done and dusted! And I’m already starting to plan out ideas for next year! I need to have things planned well in advance to get them done these days!

What did you create for Christmas?

Much love, stay creative
