With a lack of finished product to show you this week, I thought I would share my current “to-do-list”.
At work, we had several saris donated with the idea of turning them into costumes for the children. I plan to cut about a meter of the ends to turn into a skirt and shawl. The rest of the length of fabric I will hem, this will allow the fabric to be used open ended. Think capes, cubby houses, blankets and costumes. The addition of a few well placed knots will make the fabric take on a life of its own!
Mine and Guys Euro Honeymoon trip is three weeks (on Friday) away! There are a few things I need to prepare for this.
One is a journal. For the last couple of trips I have cut 12inch scrap book papers into 6 pieces, and kept these in a little pouch with a couple of pens. When we get back, we can stick these directly into a scrap book, surrounded by photos that correspond to the relevant journal entry
The other thing, I really wanted to do, was to sew a few small koalas that we can give as thank-you gifts. My idea was to screen print a design onto fabric, do a little embroidery, then sew them up. I spent some time this morning exposing the screen, so next step will be to print a few, then onto the sew!
I will also be writing my blog posts in advance, so hopefully you don’t miss me too much 🙂
My studios current state is an absolute mess! It’s starting to wear me down, so I am going to need to spend a day in here just tidying up. We are currently in the middle of building the guinea pigs a new living area. It is raised off the floor, with a little bit of room for storage underneath. Hopefully with this new addition, I’ll be enthused to tidy up! ha!
I’m sure my to-do list is much longer than this, but this is what I am prioritizing for the rest of the week!
What are you currently working on? Do you feel your current to-do list is achievable?
Have a creative week! <3 Cate
